Educator, Researcher & Aspirant Academic
Hello. I’m Trudie Coetzee,
A research psychology graduate who can present material to students in an engaging manner and assist you in producing research outputs.

About Me.
I have always been curious. As the daughter of two Town Planners, one of whom pursued a career in academia, the quest for knowledge has always been a passion. Having an older sister with Rett Syndrome also shaped who I am. As a child, I often had to keep myself busy. Much of my childhood was spent contemplating the world and the people around me. A budding researcher was born.
Today, I am no different - a curious learner who desires to uncover what drives human motivation and behaviour individually and within society. Teaching is a way for me to learn and broaden my own horizons. I have learned this practice through my academic teaching career and in my part-time yoga teaching endeavours. I have been teaching since 2020 and have taught a variety of modules, mostly in the field of Psychology, at a variety of institutions. I have seen how my own knowledge gets sharpened and challenged when transferred to others. The thing I love most about teaching is seeing students grow.
Research can be a very solitary pursuit, and it is hard to see an immediate social impact of the knowledge created by academics in their ivory towers.
Teaching provides the opportunity to bring that knowledge from the ivory tower to the ground floor. To affect social change from the ground up and to uphold the pursuit of knowledge in the name of the common good.
